So 6 miles was good for him but bad. They made his paws raw and in some spots slightly bleeding. Put makeshift bandages on him and a few hours later they were torn off. So for the night, I put antibiotic balm on his paws and made him wear knee highs. Hopefully they stay on for the night. Getting actual dog bandages tomorrow.

I have a pitbull too and since she is usually inside, her paws end up raw after enjoying a day outside. I usually put Neosporin and aloe; then place socks on her paws. I have used tape to keep them in place. I went to the vet and the only thing you can apply daily to prevent this is Vaseline and aloe.
